This is a great way to try Watercolour Painting.

I run regular watercolour courses from my studio in New Costessey, Norwich. All courses have four spaces to maximise individual attention and cater for all abilities from absolute beginners to advanced levels.

Each course normally comprises of 12 weekly classes and each class runs for 2 hours at £16.00 per class.

Although each course is designed to meet the needs of the Painters attending, the following are examples of techniques covered in previous courses:

Wet-in-wet washes including variegated and graded washes
Wet-on-dry washes and how to control drips and bleeds. This also includes wet-up-to-wet painting
Dry brushing and specialist brushes
Lifting with mediums, natural sponges, kitchen rolls and erasers
Creating textures with salt, masking fluid and mediums
Blending techniques on dry paper and wet paper

Each course runs in a similar way. I will provide you with a Project that includes a colour A4 photo and a colour chart. We will then discuss composition possibilities, colour schemes, and techniques to achieve varying textures. I also like to incorporate drawing techniques within the course structure. Alternatively, you may wish to work from your own source materials with guidance from me.

You will be required to bring your art materials with you. As a complete beginner this may sound daunting, so if you are interested in joining one of my courses please contact me first to discuss further. To get you started I have a selection of materials and equipment you can borrow for a small nominal fee.
